Yes it's a true white.
No I wouldn't call it see through. But being white, not completely opaque. I wear it without a cami and don't think I'm showing off undergarments, but I would not wear it with a black bra if that makes sense?
The 4th picture shows a close up of the pocket area and you can kind of see the outline of the inner pocket through the shirt, so it is a thinner fabric.
