As Time Goes By - Complete Original Series (DVD 2005)

Approximately 32 hours on 11 discs of the very popular British TV comedy "As Time Goes By," featuring stars Dame Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer. The complete series was featured in nine seasons on television and tells the story of Lionel Hardcastle, a dashing young British Army officer, and Jean Pargetter, a lovely student nurse, who meet during the Korean war and fall deeply in love. Lionel is shipped off to Korea, and the lovers are separated by a lost letter and a misunderstanding. Forty years later, now a divorced coffee planter, Lionel returns to England from Kenya, to finish his memoir entitled, "My Life in Kenya." In need of a temporary secretary to help him with the project, Lionel turns to a local secretarial agency, unaware it is owned by his long-lost wartime sweetheart Jean. It takes Jean's incurably romantic daughter, Judith, to get the two former lovers back together. Despite a rough start and many hilarious obstacles, Jean and Lionel begin their journey of rekindling their old romance. An American television production company wants to turn the story of their relationship into a mini-series. That twist, plus all the familial interruptions and good intentions fill each season with drama, laughter, and the blessing of a second chance. The original series ran from 1992 to 2002. The boxed set of DVDs was released by BBC Video in 2005. DVDs and jewel cases are in mint condition. The cardboard sleeve encasing the seven DVDs is worn at the corners. (See photos.)
