I never report newbies that are selling no-no's, I always welcome them, & give them the share/rule info in terms of how it benefits them. abstractdreams @bgbirchett : Hi Brianna. Some I make with templates from apps like ImageChef.com. The Do's & Don't's I did from scratch by searching images of black backgrounds & taking a screen shot of it. Then I did the rest at A Beautiful Mess. Those took a lot longer.

She's selling all kinds of things that are not allowed because they directly violate Federal shipping regulations! I try to give people that info in terms of how not following PM rules impacts sharing and sales as many won't follow, share or buy from them... But she was one bad apple! Not too many out of 25,000+ 👍🏽

I read the one set of prohibited items where it said " No Health and Wellness Products ". After I got in . trouble for selling Wen Conditioner. So in my mind I honestly was thinking vitamins and supplements. They wrote me and sent me to that line.

moonequalist Lol I love this. I just took down a post about post etiquett. I pride myself on posh etiquett but I thought maybe it was too pushy. Lol. yack_21 @abstractdreams thank you for asking, however, some rules I was unaware so the direction given felt cold and "here are our rules" versus "hey! Just in case you didn't know". I comment back with the changes and updates and not so much as a "thanks or just a heads up." If you're going to pass along info and attempt to maintain a happy environment, I believe the delivery should be happy as well.

I asked an amazing Posher what it took to get Host Picks & she kindly explained about PM rules & the need for compliance if I wanted one. Her motto is "Each one teach one." I took that to heart & try to pay all the help I received forward. If I can be a help to you lmk.👍🏽💕

abstractdreams @refashionline : I try...I also try to explain to non-compliant Posher's that there's a huge support network here, that's not available to them when they list items that violate the guidelines: many Posher's won't follow, share or buy from those closets. They report them & move on.😕

I inform Poshers whenever I can because there's a pretty militant directive from PM to force people to follow by not supporting them & reporting them.✋🏽My plan was to decorate too, while the temp is really mild, but after cleaning my kitchen (which looked like it exploded, lol!) and getting Posh pkg's ready to mail, I'm exhausted!😳

And many sellers listing in those parties don't show purchase prices or actual labels! Posh now leaning toward promoting Retail Stores? abstractdreams @poppir : The technical answer is no. But...I don't think PM does anything about it if you do. It will however prevent you from getting support from many in the community (including Host Picks) who won't follow, share or buy from non-compliant closets. Posh has plans to expand the app this yr to include children's clothing & also start a Men's app.👍🏽

bmonska @abstractdreams it was my understanding that pm is accepting *it as a form of payment option for the buyer at check out. That's different from when sellers try to get the buyer, or vice versa, to make the whole transaction off posh on *it to avoid fees....

bmonska @abstractdreams I think people are getting very confused. Example, if a gal buys a shirt and checks out choosing *it as her funding source, posh gets their fee still and the transaction is supported but going through *it instead posh to avoid paying posh fees is still not allowed. Correct?

I commented on an upcoming party host's page asking her to check out my closet and others, and she commented back saying she'd love to but my closet isn't posh compliant bc all undergarments, including bras and swim tops must be brand new, not even worn once. I have not and would never sell swim bottoms..

I thought as long as they're in good condition and everything is clearly written out in the description it was ok. The bras I'm selling have been worn 1-2x and are in excellent condition. abstractdreams @cncalabro : I just checked "selling guidelines" and it does still use the term "underwear" bug I know absolutely that everything you mentioned (except panties) is allowed to be sold used. You can email PM Support with any question & have an answer in writing. I did that with my journals, which also were not allowed until last yr. Then I posted the email in my listing!👍🏽💕

abstractdreams @the_avon_lady : I'm glad it helped. While many Posher's are militant about not following, sharing or buying from non-compliant closets, I am more forgiving. I made mistakes back in the day, and I got help from forgiving mentors so I give Posher's the info about violations & I will follow & share compliant items that first time, but not after that. I feel like it's my job to teach/help, not be the Posh Police.👍🏽

Posh assumes that outside contact between Posers is for the sole purpose of arranging offsite transactions.😕If it's a conversation that someone does not want in their own closet, it is generally done in a listing like this. Or some Posher's communicate in old "sold" listings.

Also I always give my Avon customers a free gift. Planned on it. That ok? And is it ok to but a Avon book. And business card the the box. Btw I'm so glad you found my closet. Small bags of candies, Poshmark Poshaholic pencils I had made years ago, Sephora samples...stuff like that. Here's the thing about scents: I have Lupus & I'm very sensitive to perfumes. If you included little Avon samples, that's perfectly fine, and I think including your business card & a catalog is too! But...there are always (always!) those ppl that you just cannot please who will complain!👎🏽

abstractdreams @the_avon_lady : I don't, for a couple reasons. First, if I'm sharing using the button at the top right, I accidentally "bundle" things all the time. And second, many ppl are checking yo get an estimate of their spending & the discount. "Let me know if you'd like a bundle" is leftover from prior to the auto-bundle feature, which is pretty recent.👍🏽

the_body_shop @abstractdreams I am so messed up on sleep. I'll go 36 hrs no sleep then sometimes 36 hrs straight or 5 hrs up 5 hrs asleep. Taking heavy meds for Lyme disease. So I'm not on a clock. That's why I love going Avon. I can do it when I can. Just like posh.

I adore her Q-tips & "Each One Teach One" is a motto I try to apply in life as well as Posh. I don't enjoy being the Posh Police either, but I sure can police myself! I'm not as militant & unforgiving as many here. I report, but I give Poshers the 411 & follow & share (I may even buy) from those closets. I think it's PM's responsibility to police the site, not ours!

I'd much rather help a new Posher than ignore and report them, but I think age has made me less tactful and diplomatic than I was. How do you tell a new Posher she has unsupported items? I'm always afraid they'll get defensive and block me. It happened once, even though I thought I was polite and helpful. Her first response was "Everyone else is doing it, why are you singling me out?

chicknthesticks @abstractdreams I agree that it's Posh's job, not ours, to police their site. They're getting paid to do it, we aren't. Sometimes I resent the way they just assume we'll submit reports, especially when it's on the same thing in the same closet for over a year. I don't know why they can't have key words that stop an item before it's ever listed, like "ounces" or "oz," "swatched" or "tested," etc. I even made the suggestion, but the response was something like "We've got it under control."

Like the chick yesterday who called me a loser...water off a ducks back. I took screen shots, reported & blocked her. abstractdreams @yack_21 : That is a fact, not to mention that there are actually male users of the app. But the way the current "terms of service" that we all agree to when we sign up are written, those items (and male users) are violations! That's why there are major changes with every Posh upgrade. The app has to evolve or go the way of the dinosaurs! Some items, like anything flammable are USPS shipping violations.👍🏽💕

Many of the Posher's who buy/wear fur are pretty militant about their "right" to do so! The only creature with the right to wear fur is the animal born with it!! The items in my listings Part 1 & 2, are still prohibited and so is offering transactions off the app. Some ppl don't know there are rules, and some just done care! Posh depends on each of us, to report & not support violations of the guidelines.👍🏽💕

If you scroll to the bottom of my closet, you'll see mistakes. But I made my closet Posh compliant when I realized there were rules & I'm a SU now. Share everything in your closet, so that non-compliant items are @ the bottom.

abstractdreams @closet_finds I agree! I asked one of the sellers, who was also a SU. She informed me she had asked Posh Support first & after I asked, she posted the email. So, I emailed & was told NO the first time & yes after sending them screenshot of her email! I included the emails in my listings. "Books" still aren't allowed, not even kids books! Seems like one policy across the board would be more fair/appropriate!👍🏽Happy Sunday!

abstractdreams @bantonboutique : Sharing to Parties for those brands will be critical. Many Poshers only shop Parties, since they're brand/designer specific. Detailed titles/descriptions help too since Posh algorithms catch key words from both when shoppers search for items without a brand/designer. Posh is cyclical, there are busier/slower times.

abstractdreams @mama__glam : I'm a Suggested User, and we get a newsletter about new updates. To my knowledge that is NOT an option allowed by Poshmark. There are many who do advertise that they have "lower prices/free shipping" on other apps. But once Posh notices, they can & do shut down those closets.

love_buzzz I just want to thank you for all of your informative postings! It is truly helpful for newer Poshers, such as myself :) I still have many items to list and a lot to learn here. Upon opening my account, I very carefully read through the Posh regulations. I appreciate your references that neatly summarize everything. I have noticed many closets that are not compliant. I want to avoid making those mistakes. I do have a question, but having trouble posting it here...

love_buzzz When I joined, p. p. was a payment option. I noticed that some sellers here do not accept it. Are there additional fees (for the seller) associated with using it? I thought that the seller gets a flat fee of 20% regardless of payment method. I tend to use that (whenever I can) so as to avoid inputting my c c / bank everywhere online. Just curious why so many avoid it on Posh, and wondering about my pay ment options as a seller :)

abstractdreams @fun_family : I apologize, I lost power yesterday so was trying to save my battery & not Poshing. 🅿️🅿️ is ONLY allowed as a payment method THRU Posh. Poshers who say they "don't accept it" mean they don't do any transactions off Posh - which is not allowed. Lmk if I can help in the future!!👍🏼❣

abstractdreams @melissacrump : Thx! I appreciate it.❣Actually, Posh adds likes/bundles to "dressing room" automatically. Someone can send you something to "style" you, but your dressing room is really just set up by you. I don't know how I feel about it, but I LOVE the ability to send a private offer!👍🏼

He's 83 & worked every day, so I convinced my folks to have a big barn sale to help with taxes & put $ aside in case he's laid up 4 awhile. Lots of ppl contributing items, I'm pulling tons out of my Posh closet!

abstractdreams @fun_family I was making another run today & unloading my car when my foot got caught on some old wire junk on the ground right in front of the DOOR!! I may have blown my good knee out!! Too early to tell! I'm generally more responsive when responding! I'm happy to help, whenever you need it!! I think I told you, it's my favorite thing about Posh! If I sell something that's just gravy!😂

love_buzzz @abstractdreams Sounds as though you have health problems too (bad knee). Sending you well wishes also! I have Lupus. Was dx 20 years ago, and still recovering from a mini-stroke I had a few years ago. Good and bad days but I'm grateful for the recovery I've managed to make thus far. My children and hubby keep me going :)

love_buzzz @abstractdreams 💜 I noticed that you have Fibro. We share a lot in common there (my Lupus). I make Lupus / Fibro (and Autism) memory lockets using NOS vintage gemstones and Swarovski crystals. I'll let you know when I list them here. I donate a lot to families impacted. I just made a lot for a friend's family (she now has kidney disease from the Lupus) so I'm giving my hands and eyes a little rest, lol but will get to making more very soon 💜 HUGS 💜

ixy_r to save the extra shipping charges and I did just that (not knowing that it wasn't allowed!) Now the items are not as described and there's nothing I can do :/ I truly wish more "seasoned" poshers were as honest and kind as you for wanting to make sure all newbies are informed :)

groovychick4u Good morning! I just want to say thank you for being such an awesome mentor to so many and you are soooo appreciated!! I'm fairly new to Posh and have slowly been learning as I go. I was wondering a couple of things. 1) I got one host pick a few months ago but nothing since. I'm not sure what I could do differently. How do the Hosts pick?! I have been trying to share as much as possible, add new items regularly, share during parties of course. Any thoughts?

groovychick4u And 2) if I report an item is that anonymous? There really are a ton of Poshers selling so many prohibited items. I was one of them too when I first started! I never say anything to the newbies just encourage them and tell them about being compliant. But there are some who are not newbies still selling stuff! Thanks for your input. I'm all ears!! ❤️

LOTS of followers help too since that's who sees your items. Clear, well lit cover shots/photos, detailed descriptions & timely responses to questions/comments will are also important!

It's frustrating when I start sharing items from a closet only to discover it's filled with prohibited items, but I've never reported any of those. Wish I could "unshare". Another thing that bugs me is misspelled words in listings.... but that's a whole other story :/

the_body_shop @abstractdreams you know how you talked about my 2017 pretty bad. Well it ended with my grand baby in nicu. And one day we almost lost her. This past Tuesday my husband fell through a skylight 15 ft to concrete. Busted head open blood all over. Should have died but only has fa tired forehead nose and eye socket. All other is bruises and muscular. I need a break I tell ya. Already thinking 2019 better be good.

I’m happy that you’re feeling up to Poshing!💕My name change went fairly smoothly. I didn’t loose followers, that I’m aware of. But I’ve had ppl say “There You Are!’ So I kept the notice high up in my closet for a couple years, just in case. I’ll be sure to tag you if I see other name changes. But I’m not really feeling well this Winter.👎🏼I check in often, but not much more.

I did have perfume for sale at one point and it was removed which enticed me to read the rules thoroughly. Now i also report people, especially for replicas! I believe my closet is now compliant.
