karenyvette10 You have an awesome closet!🎉❤🌺 How do you make sure all of your sold items are grouped at the bottom? Also what app do you use to create yourcute messages/posts? Thanks!
May 31Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @karenyvette10 Hi Karen! Thank you very much! The trick to sorting your closet is to share your items or edit your listings (and they'll be shared by default). I usually share my available listings from the bottom up to keep them in somewhat the same order. When I sell an item, I share my "sold beyond here" listing, followed by all available listings, and skip over the sold items. They'll automatically go below the "sold" listing.
May 31Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @karenyvette10 I usually use Phonto for my signs. It's a free iPhone app (not sure if it's available for Android) that has a lot of great fonts and basic backgrounds. I usually use a phone wallpaper for the background and edit the coloring to my liking using Photoshop Express. For collage pics, I like Frametastic. There are a lot of great free apps out there!

dizzybee Re: Shipping, the $4.99 priority shipping covers heavier items too? Like shoes? And what if the priority box is a little bigger? I know that priority boxes come in different sizes, does the 4.99 price cover all priority boxes? Thank you.
Jun 02Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @dizzybee Hi! The 4.99 shipping price is good up to 5 pounds. If the box weighs more than that after it's all packaged, then the additional cost will be taken out of the sellers earnings. In Poshmark's FAQ section, they have a table showing what the additional cost is per pound. If you don't have a scale, I suggest getting one. So far, I have never had a package weigh more than 5 lbs, and that includes shoes I've sold. :)
Jun 02Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @dizzybee Also, heavier packages require a different label, which you have to request from Posh. The size of the box doesn't matter, just make sure it's not a flat-rate box. I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, I'm glad to help!

dlm1166 Hi @belleplaid, thanks so much for answering our newbie questions! Hopefully it doesn't get too annoying for you! Can you explain to me what a share group is? Thanks!!
Jun 04Reply
kristina_85
kristina_85 @belleplaid is there any secret to getting a host pick? I share items I think are fitting to the party theme. Just curious if I'm missing something... Thanks.
Jun 04Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @dlm1166 Hi Diane! Share groups can be hard thoroughly explain, since there are many different ones with different rules... The basic idea is that many different people share your items (whatever amount the group requires) and this helps increase exposure. If you have 1000 followers and someone in your share group has 100000 followers, this gets your items seen by many more people than you could possibly reach by yourself! 😀 cont...
Jun 04Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @dlm1166 Some groups have a set time when everybody shares, say from 12-2 for example--everyone has to start and complete within that time. With some, it's an all day thing--you are assigned x amount of people to share an you have until midnight or so to complete sharing, so it's more convenient to those who cant share at a designated time. There are groups that only share jewelry or purses or denim. Find one that works for you and try it out! Cont...
Jun 04Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @dlm1166 The 2 most important things about share groups are to have a posh-compliant closet and if you sign up you must share, otherwise it's not fair to those sharing your closet expecting shares in return. I help host the weekday 3:30 Dairy Queens group, you can find more info about it on that listing. 😀
Jun 04Reply
dlm1166
dlm1166 Thanks for that great explanation Sara! How do you find all these share groups? Also, how do Poshers get their items as "Host Picks"? Do you have to tag the Host from your items? Thanks so much again! You are so helpful!
Jun 04Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @kristina_85 Hi Kristina! I haven't yet found the secret to getting a Host Pick, but I have gotten a fair amount. ;) Most hosts have their HPs picked prior to the party, so the best way to get them to notice your closet is to seek out their party announcements (like mine at the top of my closet), congratulate them, like, and share it! Do this well in advance of the party, not the day of, when hosts are swamped with notifications and HP requests. Contd...
Jun 04Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @kristina_85 If you do congratulate a host on their upcoming party, you can politely add that you've never had an HP and ask if they would consider looking at your closet. Many hosts love to share items from newer closets! Also, make sure that your closet followsxall PM rules, since hosts are asked to only share from rule-abiding closets. I hope this helps and I see many host picks in your future! 🌸

belleplaid @dlm1166 Most share group hosts have a listing specifically for share group conversation, so if you want more info about a particular group you're interested in, start by reading through that, and if you have any further questions, you can ask the host herself right on that listing! jessica2123 Congrats on being chosen to host a party :) I get invited to the same themed parties by pm-Editor over and over. How do I participate in a more variety of parties? Also, I see people I follow that share that they are hosting a party but I don't usually see the details of the party on that post. How do I find out what kind of party it will be and RSVP to it to make sure I don't miss it?
Jun 05Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @jessica2123 Hi Jessica, thank you! Poshmark holds 3 parties per day, at 9am, 12pm, and 7pm PST. The 9am party features different popular brands (usually 3 per party), the noon party is for specific items (like shoes or dresses or jewelry) and the night party is more of an open party, with the theme changing daily (some themes this week have been Summer Style, Girly Girl and Style Obsessions). Contd...
Jun 05Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @jessica2123 Sharing your items to parties (when theme appropriate) is very important, since it allows your items to be seen by the whole Poshmark community rather than just your followers. It is important to know that items can only be shared once per party, unless it's a host pick, so it is recommended that you only share your own items to parties, not other people's, since most users have a preferred time or order that they like to share in. Contd...

Jun 05Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @jessica2123 The night party is the only one with hosts and host picks. Hosts only learn their theme a few days to a week prior to the party, so that's why you see so many announcements without a theme--they're still waiting! Try to share as many of your items to the parties as possible, while still sticking to the theme.

Jun 05Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @jessica2123 You're welcome! You'll get notifications for parties from PM a few days in advance, and you can also like the announcement listings (like mine)--most hosts price the listings high, and drop the price every so often so that the price drop notification is sent to everyone who likes the listng, reminding them of the party!🎉🎉

marisemiz
marisemiz @belleplaid hi, why peole post so many not for sale items? What does it mean besides teasing us?
Jun 07Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @marisemiz Hi Marise! There can be a few different reasons for that. Sometimes it is because the buyer has put it on hold for someone temporarily. It's also possible that the item was sold in a bundle. Most people will put that in the item description, but not always. Some buyers have not for sale listings for things they have decided to keep for now, but may sell again in the future.
Jun 07Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @marisemiz Also, some people mark items not for sale if they are going on vacation or taking a little break from Poshmark but plan on reopening their closets soon. I hope this helps!

sharlovesalex
sharlovesalex Hi, I'm new to Posh. I've done more buying than selling, but I'm glad because I just had a baby and don't want to spend a ton on designer jeans because I'm losing some of the baby weight...anyway, I don't have a TON of things to sell. A few things that no longer fit since I got pregnant, some shoes and things I rarely wear, and that's about it. Do I need to have tons of items in my closet to be taken seriously? Thanks!
Jun 08Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @sharlovesalex Hi Shar, welcome to Poshmark and congratulations on your baby!! You don't need to have tons of items in your closet to be taken seriously, though Posh recommends at least 10. You've got more than that, which is great! I usually average around 50 items in my closet (though I'm trying to expand). The more items you have, the more diverse your closet will be, and may attract more potential buyers.
Jun 08Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @sharlovesalex The most important tip I can provide is to be active in the community by returning shares and sharing your own closet at least 3 times daily. And participate in parties when appropriate! Parties give the entire Posh community a peek into your closet, and more exposure will only increase your sales! I hope this helps! ✨

belleplaid
belleplaid @designecho Hi Jenn, welcome! Clean clear covershots are the best way to go in my opinion. Frames can look good, but try to avoid anything too busy that will clutter the photos. Keep in mind that most people are viewing items on smartphones, so you want to grab their attention without forcing them to open the listing just to see what you're selling! Your pics look great, btw! As you go along, you'll pick up a ton of inspiration on how to style things while keeping your items as the main focus.
Jun 09Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @designecho With shipping notifications, it can mean 3 things: 1) A seller dropped the price on an item in your "likes" and Posh is offering you discounted shipping for a limited time, 2) You dropped the price on an item and you're being notified that potential buyers who liked the listing may receive a shipping discount, or 3) Posh is hosting a site-wide sale, offering discounted shipping to everyone according to the terms of the sale.
Jun 09Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @designecho To find out if it's a Posh-wide sale, open the first line in your "news" tab and it will give you sale info, or you can also usually find details on the Poshmark blog, which I highly recommend staying up-to-date with. 😄 I hope this helps!!

fabboutiqueee
fabboutiqueee Why can't make no sales? Price to high ? Help me how do I gain more followers?
Jun 11Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @fabboutiqueee It almost always takes awhile to make your first sale. Your prices are fine & your covershots are clear. My advice is to try to build followers. The best way to do that is to go into someone else's profile (use mine to see what I'm talking about) where it shows "followers" & "following" you can click into those & just start following people like crazy! Many will follow you back also! The more followers you have, the more exposure you get & more exposure equals more sales!!
Jun 11Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @fabboutiqueee Be sure to share your closet to your followers at least 3 times daily and participate in Posh parties when appropriate. Also, adding a few more listings can't hurt. Poshmark recommends having at least 10 listings in your closet to be taken seriously as a seller. I hope this helps and good luck with your sales!

juliette13
juliette13 Hi Sara! Thank you for being so welcoming to the new bees Poshmark! I have a question about discounted shipping when price drops. I thought it supposed to be 10% price drop ( when the promotion goes on). I asked the seller and she lowered the price but I still was charged 4.99, Even though seller lowered price more than 10%. The same situation happened with another purchase. Is there an action seller has to take to make the shipping eligible for discount rather than lower the price?
Jun 14Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @juliette13 Hi Yulia! I have to say, I'm kinda stumped on this one... You should have received the shipping discount, but since you did not, it leads me to think that even though the price dropped, it wasn't 10% off of the lowest historical price. It's likely the seller dropped the price in the past for a different sale, and raised it again after it was over. The seller may not always remember that they had previously discounted the item.
Jun 14Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @juliette13 Also, if the price before shipping was less than $10, you would not receive the discount. If something like that happens in the future, I recommend contacting Poshmark support. They're really great at responding to your questions, and they can give you the actual reason behind the issue. I hope this helps! 😊🌺

mkandmore
mkandmore I have never sold on Posh just bought. What kind of things can I expect from scams? I will only use Posh for selling and I will not trade. I have only purchased a few items on this site that were a problem but I did get my money back. Overall I have purchased a lot of great items and I have lots to sell but I am a little bit in the dark on how I need to be careful when selling.
Jun 16Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mkandmore I have been very lucky to not have been scammed by anyone, but unfortunately not everyone here is trustworthy. 😞 I have heard of buyers damaging goods and saying they came that way to get a refund, and other crazy things like that. Many sellers recommend taking pictures or video as you're packaging the item, showing that it is as described, so that you can use that if there is a dispute.
Jun 16Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mkandmore I definitely don't recommend trading, as that seems to be where the most problems occur, and although they technically allow it, Poshmark will not back up a trade gone wrong. You said you weren't trading, and that's great! Best advice is to just be an honest seller, listing any flaws or damage, be responsive and prompt, and you probably won't have any problems. There are always some bad apples in any group, but hopefully you won't encounter them!
Jun 16Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mkandmore Oh! You can also view the buyer's "Love Notes" on their "About" page, those can give you a decent idea of what kind of buyer/seller they are. Do they have nice reviews? Do they leave nice reviews? (Not everyone leaves reviews, but it may give you a little insight on the person.) 😊

Cont...
Jun 23Reply
jessica2123
jessica2123 But this sort of made me feel cheated, since I don't have control over the fit and I feel buying over the internet carries known risks, fit not working out being one of the obvious ones. What do I do about this, if anything? How detrimental are low ratings going forward? Thank you so much!! 😍
Jun 23Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @jessica2123 I'm sorry to hear about that review! Fit should have no affect on ratings, unless you give grossly wrong measurements. Just today, I had a buyer update her rating from 5 stars to 3 because she found a hole in the item after trying it on. I feel absolutely terrible about it, since like you, I try so hard to please the buyer. 😞 I contacted support to see if there is a way to refund her (she didn't request that), but have not heard back yet.
Jun 23Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @jessica2123 There's really nothing that can be done, but luckily one negative rating won't impact you much. At this time, buyers cannot see your ratings, just your love notes. If in the future Posh updates it so that ratings can be seen, comfort yourself with the fact that your good reviews will outweigh the bad, and if you continue to have good transactions, you'll be back to 5 stars in no time!
Jun 23Reply
jessica2123
jessica2123 @belleplaid oh no, I'm sorry that happened, I would feel the same way. I am always worried something like that will happen to me also (an unintentional mistake.) that does help knowing the ratings are not viewable to others. I had read that somewhere before but must have forgotten! Thank you for the reminder! 😍
Jun 23Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @jessica2123 You're welcome! 😘 Yeah, I feel so bad about it, but it was my oversight, so she was totally justified changing her review. I've had a few other poor ratings, one for a dress that was in immaculate condition, so I can only assume it didn't fit or she just didn't like it after she got it, and another said I didn't describe the item accurately, when there were ample pictures and full measurements. It's extremely frustrating, but I just try to shake those off as best as I can. 😡💕🌺🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Jun 23Reply
jessica2123
jessica2123 Yes, I'm sure it won't be my last, so I better grow some thicker skin for the ones that are not justified 😆 I just went back and checked the listing b/c I thought I remembered measuring these jeans, and I did, but the measurements were in comments. I didn't add them to the description. Lesson learned, although I'm not sure it would have helped in this case. Oh well. Thank you again xoxo

Jun 30Reply
rebeccasinger
rebeccasinger **provide oops. thank you!!
Jun 30Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @rebeccasinger Shipping is actually pretty easy. 😊 Once you make a sale, Posh will email you a label. The labels are USPS Priority Mail, so you can use those or any plain box. They can be picked up at your post office or ordered (free!) from usps.com. The only boxes they advise to never use are Priority Flat Rate--they look almost identical to regular priority boxes, so double-check the wording. Package up your item nicely, tape the label on it, and it's ready to ship!
Jun 30Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @rebeccasinger Also, I used the term "boxes" loosely--you can also use shipping envelopes. And neatly wrapped items are a big plus! I hope this helps! 🌷🌷🌷

rebeccasinger
rebeccasinger How does the price drop/99¢ shipping work & how often does poshmark do it?
Jun 30Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @rebeccasinger Posh does closet clear-out sales pretty often, but 99 cent shipping is more rare, usually it's $2.99 or something. The seller must drop the price 10% from its lowest historical price & the final price must be $10 or more before shipping. The discount is available for 1 hour after the price drop (this can vary). A notification will go out to everyone who has liked the item notifying them of the discount. This doesn't apply to orders placed through the "offer" feature.
Jun 30Reply
rebeccasinger
rebeccasinger Ohh that's interesting. Thanks again haha
Jun 30Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @rebeccasinger During these sales, many don't drop prices unless a buyer requests the shipping discount, because the next time the sale comes around, they'll have to drop it another 10% and there's no guarantee an interested buyer is on Posh at the time of the price drop. Also, many sellers won't negotiate price in the comments, so if you are interested in something and want the discount, just ask the seller if they would consider dropping it enough for the discount.

How do you tag someone? Also, any comments/ advice on my shop would be greatly appreciated if you have the time. I only have 5 items but I plan on adding more-I am easing into the Posh world. I did sell a dress about a day after I posted, which was great!

belleplaid @treadlightly Hi Heather, welcome to Poshmark! I'm sorry for the tardy reply, I totally missed your comment! To tag someone, you just type @ in front of the username like this @treadlightly -- then you'll get a notification that you were tagged. It's not necessary to tag people on their own listings, they automatically get notified if you comment on their items. Just FYI, there are mixed feelings on tagging someone who like your items. Some like it, some don't.

rebeccasinger 😂I think this is like my 3rd question haha but I was wondering how trades work? Are they safe?
Jul 02Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @rebeccasinger Haha, no worries! I don't trade at all, so I'm no expert, but I think both parties agree on the items to be traded and change the price to $3 so that they can get the shipping labels and whatnot.
Jul 02Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @rebeccasinger Most poshers will not trade because there is no protection if you don't receive the agreed item. Although Posh technically allows it, Posh Protect will not stand behind a trade transaction. I'm sure there are many honest traders out there, but I won't take the risk. If you do intend to trade, I suggest reading comments on the other person's sold items as well as checking their love notes in order to give you a feel about the person.

With regards to shipping, does the 4.99 still apply if you want to list an item for $5.00 or less? Finally (I have other questions but don't want to bombard you), would you mind looking at my closet & making any suggestions you think might help?
Jul 06Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @sumthingreat The standard 4.99 shipping applies to all orders, unless there's a sale going on or something. Many poshers will mark items $5 or under as add-on items only available when bundled, but that's entirely up to you. Your closet looks great! Your pictures are clear & your descriptions are good. I hope I've helped!

belleplaid @tzamora63 Hi & welcome! First of all, it almost always takes awhile to make your first sale, so don't let that discourage you. Your closet looks great, you have good descriptions & the prices are just fine. People can always make an offer if they think the price is too high. Personally I would remove the candle, that definitely falls under the household goods category. Cont...

belleplaid @tzamora63 My best advice is to network within the site. Follow as many people as you can and share like crazy! Many people will follow & share in return! Share your own items multiple times a day, along with other people's items. You need exposure in order to sell, so for example, if you shared one of my items and I shared one of yours in return, the item I shared for you has the potential to be seen in the feeds of my 33k followers! belleplaid @tzamora63 Also be sure to share to parties when your items fit the theme, those have the potential to be viewed by every posher on the site! Best of luck in your sales and happy Poshing! 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

katterracina
katterracina Hey! I just started listing items today and I noticed that someone offered me below my price in the comments and I asked them to use the offer button. And they said that shipping would be cheaper if I lowered the price and they bought it. I thought it was a standard $4.99 for shipping? I've seen people do weird things with shipping.
Jul 08Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @katterracina Sorry for my late reply! You're right--standard shipping is 4.99. During closet clear-out sales, Posh offers shipping discounts on price drop items. If it's not closet clear-out, sometimes (not always) Posh gives shipping discounts on price-drops, but there's no way to guarantee it.
Jul 09Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @katterracina It's great she followed thru on the sale (congrats by the way!!!), not everyone will, which is why the offer feature is so great--it's binding. But shipping discounts are never available thru the offer feature. So, in conclusion (lol)... Shipping is weird sometimes. 😂😂💕

mbw20 Hi Sara! Thanks very much for following my page and for being so kind to all of us newbies!!! In terms of following people, what do you usually do? Do you follow anyone's page who follows you in the hopes of more exposure for your closet items or do you follow people's closets that you're interested in? Thank you SO much!! And Super helpful info as well about becoming a Host Pick!! :)
Jul 13Reply
mbw20
mbw20 Another quick question, sorry!! If I have an item that has tags stating its size (size 10) but I know it fits more like an 8 or 6 should I still list it as the 10 and put in the description that it runs small? Or list it at the size that I think is truer to the fit. Thank you SO much!!
Jul 13Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 Hi Mal, you're welcome!!
Jul 13Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 Haha! I somehow hit post without continuing my comment. 😂 As far as following people, everyone is different, but I tend to follow as many people as possible. I feel that it's the easiest way to gain followers/exposure in return. I follow Suggested Users, then follow their followers, etc. There's a whole rabbit hole of following that you can tumble down, lol!
Jul 13Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 Following a ton of people can have it's drawbacks though. Many poshers like to shop from their feed, so they prefer to follow only pffs and those more in line with their personal styles so that their feed isn't as crowded with random items.
Jul 13Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 With item size, I usually list the size it actually fits like, rather than size on tag, and in the item description I'll say something like "the tag says 10, but fits more like 8, and provide good measurements. This way, people filtering by size using the search function can come across an item that will fit, rather than an item that won't. (Hopefully that's clear, I haven't had my coffee yet today 😄) Happy Poshing!

mbw20 Hi Sara! Would you mind helping me with another question? You're truly my Posh mentor!! 😊 I've noticed with other listings that when someone likes an item the seller is able to lower the shipping cost somehow? It seems like if he buyer likes the item and the seller lowers the price it results in less expensive shipping? Is this true and if so how do I do that? I'd love to know any and all (Posh approved!) tips or tricks for increasing sales! Thank you SO much for your help and guidance!!
Jul 22Reply
mbw20
mbw20 @belleplaid oops forgot to tag you!
Jul 22Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 Thanks sweetie!! 😘 It's my pleasure! Posh discounts shipping during closet clear-out sales when sellers lower their price by 10%, but buyers can SOMETIMES receive discounts on price-drop items even if it's not during a site-wide sale.
Jul 22Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 If you drop the price on an item, everyone who liked that item gets price-drop notifications. Sometimes along with the notification Posh will throw in a shipping discount good for 1hr after the price drop, but there is no way for the buyer or seller to know beforehand.
Jul 22Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 If a serious buyer asks you to drop the price, it's worth a shot, but the discount is not a guarantee. Dropping the price for buyers can have it's drawbacks at times too, since if they're not serious about buying, during the next big closet clear-out you'd have to drop the price ANOTHER 10% for potential buyers to receive the (then) guaranteed shipping discount.
Jul 22Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 I usually only drop the price for bundle buyers since I can create a separate listing, price it high, have them like it, then drop it to the agreed bundle price so that they MIGHT get discounted shipping too. (This is for manual bundles, not those using the new bundle feature.)
Jul 22Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 These 500 character comment limits are driving me bananas, lol!! 😖😜 Also, there's no need to tag anyone on their own listing, they automatically get the notifications. If you wanted to tag me to something in your closet or someone else's, then you'd need to tag. 😀
Jul 22Reply
mbw20
mbw20 @belleplaid wow this is super helpful!! I'm a little overwhelmed with how green I am to all of this (like I had no idea about the cleaning closet thing 10% off - what is that?!) And that's great to know about the bundling - so I would agree to a price with a buyer for the bundle then make a separate listing higher and then lower it to the agreed upon price in the hopes of getting lowered shipping?
Jul 22Reply
mbw20
mbw20 @belleplaid Versus if a buyer chooses two items from my closet, will they automatically save 20% since that's how I have it set up but still probably have to pay the regular shipping cost? Sorry so many questions! 😓
Jul 22Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 You got it as far as the bundling thing goes! If a person creates their own bundle, they're on their own as far as shipping, but if (for example) someone asks if you would take $35 for 3 items from your closet, you can create a separate listing with all 3 items (with at least 1 pic & brief description of each), price it for $45, then ask them to like it, drop the price, and VOILA! Possibly cheaper shipping!
Jul 22Reply
mbw20
mbw20 @belleplaid Ah!!! I had NO idea!!! This is amazing!! Thank you thank you!! I can't say enough how much I appreciate all of your time and help!!
Jul 22Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 So about Closet Clear-out (or CCO)... To know if it's CCO time, look to the top of your "news". That's where Posh will notify you of the sale. During these sales, they offer discounted shipping on items that have had their price dropped 10% from the lowest HISTORICAL price. The discount varies from sale to sale, and there are little things that the sale notice might not make clear—the big one being that orders thru "make an offer" don't count.
Jul 22Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 Sometimes the discount is only for an hour after the price-drop, sometimes longer. I usually only participate in these when it's .99 or 1.99 shipping, since you'll take a real hit on your earnings if there are a lot of sales close together and you keep dropping prices! I will drop the price if a buyer requests it though. But participating can be a really great way to make sales!
Jul 22Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 You're welcome!!! It's all info that I picked up from other Poshers along the way, or learned myself the hard way, so I'm happy to pass it along!!😄😄😄
Jul 22Reply
mbw20
mbw20 @belleplaid this is SO helpful!! So if I lower my price during that time by 10% will Posh alert me to what the new lowered shipping cost will be you think? And then I can send out a message to followers or potential buyers who have liked the item to alert them of the lowered price and shipping?
Jul 22Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 Oh yeah, one more thing regarding CCO —the final price must be $10 or more in order for the shipping discount to apply!
Jul 22Reply
mbw20
mbw20 @belleplaid Also I am definitely going to use your closet as inspiration and try and glamorize my pics a bit more - I tried my best but I think they could use a little help! I love how you accessorize your photos - so beautiful!
Jul 22Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 The Posh sale notification will tell you what the shipping is, and when you lower the price, they automatically send notifications to everyone that has liked that item!

Also, when i first joined, posh offered a bunch of brands i could follow, but i can't figure out how to follow more! Sometimes a brand will be listed on an item and i can click the link and see more listings from that brand, but i don't see any follow options...

belleplaid
belleplaid @httf Thanks for your patience! I have an iPhone and the apps I usually use for signs is Phonto. I think they have an Android app as well. Over is another good one. To follow more brands, go to Shop>Brands>My Brands and at the bottom of your brands there is an option to view all brands and you can add more from there by going into each one individually.
Aug 20Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @httf As far as adding "bundle only" items, I know exactly what you mean, but don't know of a way to do it. You could always mark the item "not for sale" and in the title put "$5 when added to bundle" or something similar. That way you can manually bundle it for someone, but they won't be able to just purchase that listing on its own. It's not quite as convenient as what you're looking for, but it may be a solution.

belleplaid @greeneyedgurl82 Hi Angel! There is a comment option at the bottom of your listings that you can use. Truthfully though, I don't recommend thanking people for liking listings. The intention is good, but many find it annoying (but it's def better than asking "interested?"--people hate that, lol!)😊 The best way to thank someone on this site is to share their listings! It gives their listings exposure, which in turn increases sales! If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!

ykcloset
ykcloset hi i was wondering how the "lowered shipping for one hour" thing really works. I realized that a lot of the item that i have "liked" is reduced by 10% then all of a sudden i see the $1.99 shipping for an hour notification. Is this random or is there a way to provide cheaper shipping for your follower?
Sep 13Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @ykcloset You basically hit the nail in the head with this one--when the price is lowered by 10%, Posh SOMETIMES provides shipping discounts and notifies those that have liked the item. It's completely random, so unless it's a site-wide sale, there is no way to guarantee a discount for potential buyers. Hope this helps!!
Sep 13Reply
ykcloset
ykcloset @belleplaid can u explain what a site wide sale means? Does that mean I have to lower more than one item?
Sep 13Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @ykcloset No problem! Poshmark sometimes holds sales called Closet Clear-Out (or CCO). During these sales they offer guaranteed reduced shipping on items that have been lowered 10% or more. The discount varies by sale. When these sales happen, a notification will appear at the top of your "news" tab with sale details. 😄🌷

ykcloset Hi again :3 another question. Is it against poshmark rules to list something as a certain brand for exposure? (even making it clear in the description that it is not that brand and was listed that way for exposure purposes)
Sep 15Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @ykcloset I can't find it explicitly in the rules, but Posh does advocate being an honest seller, & I'd strongly recommend against it for a few reasons. Firstly, you don't want to be seen as an untrustworthy seller by anyone, & secondly, even if you clearly state the brand in the description, there are so many people who don't thoroughly read listings that you don't want someone to make an impulse buy only to be disappointed when they receive the item. ykcloset hello again :3 i was wondering what to do when a customer buys TWO items... i have never received a bundle order before so i don't know if this is considered a "bundle" order.... the reason i ask is because the two items this person has purchased has two separate order #... do i print out both labels and put it onto one box??? or do i separate them??? did this person accidentally not bundle the items???
Sep 16Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @ykcloset Congrats on the sales!! 😄😄 If they were purchased separately, then ship them in 2 separate packages with the appropriate labels. The buyer may be new and not know how bundles work, so purchased them separately, or purchased one and immediately realized they wanted the second item also.
Sep 16Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @ykcloset I recently had a buyer do the same thing, and although it creates a little more work for you to package them separately, you'll want to make sure they can be tracked correctly with the labels. Congratulations again! 😄👍🎉

Sep 16Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @ykcloset I haven't sold anything thru the bundle feature yet, only done manual bundles, but I'm pretty sure that it would say "bundle purchased". If you've got 2 tracking numbers & labels, then it's safe to assume they are distinct purchases. 🌸😊

Everyone has a life outside Posh, so if a share doesn't get returned, it's not the end of the world. It's wonderful to reciprocate, but it's not always easy, lol! 😄

bethbowen_
bethbowen_ hi love! question, is there a way to exclude an item from the bundling feature? I have a really nice coach handbag in my closet, but the rest of my items are under $50. I'm nervous about someone bundling my handbag with a few $5 items and it being sold for far under what I'm comfortable with. 😕
Oct 10Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @bethbowen_ At this time, I don't think so... The bundle feature has only been available for a few months and I don't believe they have created an option to exclude yet. I know other poshers that would prefer to exclude certain items or provide different discounts on some items, but right now there's not an easy way to do it.
Oct 10Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @bethbowen_ My recommendation would be to either NOT provide a discount through the bundle feature or do a small (5-10%) discount, and instead provide larger discounts (if you wish) on bundles you create manually for an interested buyer. I hope this helps! ✨✨✨✨

saniya121 How does reduced shipping work? Does Poshmark randomly decide to that or is there an option somewhere that lets you do that
Nov 06Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @saniya121 Hi! The reduced shipping is totally random, unfortunately, unless Poshmark is holding a sale. If the price is reduced by 10%, there is a *possibility* that your potential buyers may be offered reduced shipping for 1 hour after the price reduction, but no guarantees. Hope this helps! 😊

Nov 15Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @mbw20 Eek! I haven't had to do that yet (barely, whew!), but I know I've looked into it at some point... I believe if you go into the listing through your sales (the page with a checklist and option to print label), there is an option to purchase additional postage. That cost is taken out of your earnings, unfortunately. :( Congrats on your sale though! Lmk if that works!

Question I've dropped my price on a lot of items I didn't really want to because I believe they are worth more. Anyway, how do you drop the price of for just a hour or a day? The items that I dropped the price on I want to repost to my initial asking price and don't want to offend anyone. Should I just remove them and repost at a later date?

belleplaid @anastasia57 Hi Anastasia! I'm glad to be of help! To drop the price of an item for a short period of time you'd need to do it manually. Here's where it gets a bit tricky: each time you drop the price, Poshmark will remember that as the lowest historical price. So if you raise the price again and want to participate during a closet clear-out sale where Poshmark offers reduced shipping on items reduced by 10%, CONTD...

belleplaid @anastasia57 Sometimes Poshers host sales in their closets by leaving the price the same, but advertising sale price in the item description and asking buyers to comment for price reductions. Although if the buyer doesn't follow through, then you're still stuck with that reduced price being lowest historical.

belleplaid @anastasia57 It's kind of a complicated mess to explain, but hopefully I've made some sense (and that's why I leave my prices alone--it's easier😊)

belleplaid @anastasia57 As far as rules and advice, the Poshmark Support Center and Poshmark Blog are great resources, and MANY poshers have listings like this one with all sorts of advice! A quick google search should also bring up some great bloggers who are passionate about poshing and offer great tips. People tend to be really helpful here.💕This is a SUPER long response and I hope it helps, but if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask!

belleplaid @anastasia57 OKAY...A CHUNK WENT MISSING LOL!...This is continued from the 1st response.../// you would need to remember the lowest historical price and reduce 10% from THAT for shoppers to receive the shipping discount. Poshmark also occasionally offers reduced shipping on random 10% price drops, once again taking the lowest historical price into consideration.

belleplaid @anastasia57 CONTINUATION PART 2/// I personally set and leave my prices as is unless they've been sitting in my closet for a few months or there's a good sale happening--and then I leave them at that price. That way I don't have to worry about remembering previous price drops. You CAN delete and re-list the item at the original price, but then you'll lose those likes from your original listing. Remember that people can always make an offer if they want to pay less.

ellynkate @belleplaid Hi! Have a question. Can you tell me what it means if there's an item that has a yellow note on the face of the picture that says reserved? Thank you so much for your assistance! 😊
May 16Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @ellynkate Sure! It means that someone is in the process of purchasing that item. If you're interested in it, check back in a bit to see if it sold. Sometimes the transaction won't go through and it may be available again. Sadly, there isn't yet a way to mark your items reserved if you have an interested buyer who asks you to hold something.

ellynkate
ellynkate @belleplaid Thanks so much! Also, is there a way to "block" someone that you don't want to sell to if you had a bad experience with them in a past transaction?
May 17Reply
belleplaid
belleplaid @ellynkate Sorry I missed your last question! Yes, you can absolutely block people. Go into their profile and click the box with an arrow in the upper right corner. This will give you the option to block or report them. You can also report listings the same way (from within the listing). I hope this helps!

ellynkate @belleplaid Hi! Have a few questions...I will ask separately to keep is easier to follow! Do you know if there is a way to add additional brands you love to the " Brands I Follow" portion of your profile? When I initially set my profile up, I did not include all the brands that I love! Thanks! 😊
