@thelanes2 I’m so sorry about your accident! My nephew is 12 and also has apraxia. He is also deaf. He uses an iPad app and sign to communicate . If you ever have any questions , my sister had been through it all with apraxia .. I’m sure she would love to talk to another mom and may have some advice! God bless! Sending prayers! 💕❤️💋

@mommusesmm4 thank you so much 💕 it’s been a hard journey, I know we will get thru it, I joined a group on Facebook Apraxia kids.org I don’t know if she’s a member but they are great, we just applied thru them to try and get our son a tablet/acc device to help him with speaking.

@thelanes2 I’m glad to hear your son has had success with speech therapy. I’m also an SLP, so I know how difficult it can be for kiddos with Apraxia. Tell him to keep up the hard work and it will pay off!

Hi Robin, I just came back to PM after a year long break (thought it be shorter) and I'm sorry to hear that you've had such a tough year but I'm glad to hear that you and your son are ok after the accident and hey, at least, this year is about to be over so let's hope that next year is much better for you guys. I know that being a mom of child with special needs is tough but know that you're doing the best you can for your son and that you got this! Much love to you and your family 💗

I have 2 adult nonspeakers with autism and only heard about apraxia since we've been communicating - I may be able to help at least some in your community!

I'm so sorry this happened to you again thank you for teaching us about something some of us gave never heard of. As a mother it's heartbreaking to see your child struggle with anything but I'm sure it gave you great pleasure when he said Mama! We are praying for you and rooting for your family!

So glad that you shared this, and so happy you got to hear your first of many words... just wait 'til you hear "I love you." : ) (from my own experience with apraxia)....Be encouraged... lifting your family up in prayer...
