Apache Land by Ross Santee 1st Ed 1st Printing Signed Inscription + Drawings

I recently purchased this at an estate sale in SE Iowa about 45 minutes from Thornburg, Iowa, where Ross Santee was born Apache Land by Ross Santee 1st Ed 1st Printing Signed Inscription + Drawings Publication: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1947, New York First edition. Author's inked presentation inscription For 'Helene' (?) with best wishes Ross '48 plus 4 extra drawings on the same page. 216 pp., foreword, over 100 drawings by the author. Wear on dustcover - book is very good with appropriate yellowing for age. Santee lived on the Apache Reservation, ran wild horses with them and made many close friends among them. The result is an intimate knowledge of and a deep affection for the Apache and his country. Fine, bright, tight copy in dust jacket with moderate wear to the upper one third of the spine panel, light wear to the spine ends and corners, a tiny closed tear to the top edge of the rear cover panel, and light wear to the rear fold crease.
