Antique(c. 1900) Porcelain Lobster Dish

Rare antique porcelain dish, intended to hold discarded lobster/shellfish shells on the dining table. Produced by Victoria Carlsbad Austria, this piece was most likely produced between the years 1891 -1918, as indicated by the blue makers mark (this particular mark was only used during that 27 year period of the company’s 137 year history). Family says it was purchased in Europe before 1900.White porcelain base with hand painted reddish-orange lobster (the tail forms a handle) with gilt edges.
