Hard to Find, Handmade Antique, Vintage Circa 1940's Asian/Chinese/Japanese LITHOPANE Porcelain teaware from my father in-law's travel to Asia in the late 1940's to early 50's - he was a collector of many things and he had passed away recently at age 98, and his estate liquidators gave me a box of things he left for me as my inheritance. I already have three older tea sets I inherited so this set will have to go to a new lucky owner. There are four saucers to go with four tea cups, there are 10 pieces altogether to this set. One tea cup with a saucer sells on Etsy for an average of $31 (that price is for one cup and saucer, not for an entire set), so this is a very good deal you can buy now. This is a semi-unique design with a face of a celestial royal woman and/or perhaps a geisha at the bottom of each four cups, and the design on the tea pot is very unique with four celestial gentlemen gazing at the geisha. All reasonable offers welcome. We had it appraised and valuated informally through an antique dealer in Orinda California who suspects this could be worth at least $699 or more, and I consulted an Asian ceramics dealer in Berkeley California and suspects this is valued around $499-$600. There are some listing out there similarly so, check out this link for pricing reference https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/dining-entertaining/tea-sets/satsuma-geisha-lithophane-porcelain-tea-set-mid-century-japan/. This could be yours, make an offer, thank you.
