Japan's Monk Tea Box from the 1930s, handcrafted from durable teak wood in a traditional style by skilled artisans. The hasp and clasp are made of solid brass. There is some cracking in the box and twisting of the box due to its age (90 years old). These types of boxes were originally intended to hold valuables, but were often used to hold other keepsakes as well. VERY RARE. Condition is antique pre-owned.
