Antique wooden decorative box

Super sweet decorative box from the 1980s. From either central or South America. See photo with quarter inside to sense the size. The bottom has some old adhesive on it, and you can see from the final photo (with the yellow arrow) that the wood has separated a teeny bit from old age. I have no idea how much it originally cost. Would be great for jewelry or small found items.
