Something special. This is an early handmade chenille peacock bedspread. Tufted cotton yarn on white cotton with tied fringe. There are two areas where minor repairs were made and two other slight spots of wear. See photos. Overall it is in good condition without any staining or age spots. Measures 82” wide by 100” long. Pictures show it on a full size bed. There are no tags or printed hallmarks. Most likely this was a pre stamped pattern. With more modern fabrics and factory made merchandise, Chenille lost it’s popularity in the 1960’s. Early peacock bedspreads have quite a history.
