Antique Wood Framed Wire Crib Screen/Springs

Wonderful old wood-framed metal wire mesh screen for displaying photos or other memorabilia. Appears to be a hand-made mattress support for an antique homemade crib. Frame is made of 1 1/8" w x 7/8" d wood painted a blue-gray with metal reinforced corners. Two stretchers added at the short ends hold the wire mesh taut. The mesh is narrower than the long sides of the frame, leaving a slight opening between the wood frame and the screen, with a finished twisted wire that provides visual interest. Great color and patina! Screen holds magnets or small clips/clothespins--photos show both single magnets and double magnets (one on the front paired with one on the back). Frame shows some paint wear, rust on several corner braces on the back of the frame, and slight bowing of one side--none of these affect display. Can be hung vertically or horizontally. Please see photos for detail and condition. Milk bottle cap magnets not included! Measures 36" w x 17 1/2" d x 1 3/8" d. Wire mesh measures approximately 1/8-1/4" d. Wood frame is comprised of 1 1/8" w x 7/8" d pieces except on the ends, where the 1 1/8" w x 3/8" d stretchers holding the wire springs are located.
