Beautiful antique quilt.
Amazing quality and condition for its age.
Such a special find! The inside of the quilt has a panel sewn on and written some information on the history of the quilt.
"Owned by: EO Holtz
Quilted about 1900 by Haden Sisters Palmyra Virginia (Fluvanna County) Carolina Lily"
If you look up the Haden family in Palmyra, Virginia, there is a museum of their farmhouse.
"Built in 1854, Haden House at Pleasant Grove was a vibrant and active farming operation, producing wheat, corn, oats and tobacco. Plantations like Pleasant Grove depended on the Rivanna bateaux and canal boats to transport harvested tobacco crops and the locally milled corn, wheat, and oat flour downriver to Richmond markets and warehouses. Includes the Pleasant Grove House Museum"
Such an amazing piece of history, and something to be treasured for many years to come!
