Antique Victorian sterling silver Scottish agate bloodstone bullseye brooch. It dates to the early 1880s based on the hardware, construction, and materials used. The silver has been tested and is guaranteed to be sterling silver. It has beautiful hand chasing throughout. The stones are jasper, bloodstone, and blue lace agate. This brooch has been worn! It was probably used as a plaid pin for a woman or child. Each clan has a tartan, which is called a plaid. It was necessary to pin their plaid to their shirt or jacket. Brooches like this served that purpose and are sometimes called plaid pins. The brooch is 140 years old and does have some wear. Every stone in the brooch has some degree of wear. Some of the stones have small chips and scratches, while others have more damage. The four stones that make up the target have excessive damage. One stone has glue on it. The stones are secure in their setting. The clasp is in good working order. It displays beautifully. It is truly a superb Scottish sterling silver agate bullseye brooch.
