Antique Victorian Paste BELT BUCKLE Sparkles! Hinged Chape Ornate Embellishments

Beautiful & ornate antique Victorian paste (?) buckle, likely c.1880s-1900. Unusual shape! Truly unique. Note the 2 pretty turquoise blue colored stones. O110 In thick, heavy darkened goldtone metal (brass?) w/a beautiful, ornate shape. Studded all over w/claw set clear glass paste (rhinestone type) stones. None missing from what we see. A nice quality piece, it feels heavier & well made. A single prong hinged chape on the back. Approx 3.75” by 2” overall, all elements, as shown. Please see all photos. Can definitely use a cleaning, comes to you exactly as found. There is tarnish & patina. Again, see photos. Some of the “prongs“ are pulled back a bit here and there on some of the stones. We did not look at this stone by stone under a loop, so expect minor issues here & there. Even without a cleaning, it is quite sparkly. As for how these “work”, we “think” that you gently pull down on the brass piece in the back. (Pointing at it with the pen.) 👉 Some splitting (?) to the metal in the area, as shown.
