Antique Victorian Fitted Black Curly Fur Coat Jacket

An interesting example of a Victorian ladies ultra fitted fur coat in a long black curly fur. This has some major condition issues chief among them are the splits and tears in the fur down the arms. One of these is huge and exposes the lining layers in the arm, the other is about 5” long and the underlying lining is not shattered like on the one with a huge spilt. Some other areas of wear or loss to the fur Has two different sets of buttons, two black fabric covered ones at the very edge of the front opening, the others are crochet pill shaped buttons further in from the edge. Can be buttoned up multiple ways, I think the two black fabric buttons at the edge may have been added for maternity use. It’s a bit nebulous but I think probably a couple buttons are missing. This is not in a wearable condition, but it’s a great piece for a collection, reference or to use to make a pattern. Size is approximately a s/m. The beautiful silk lining shows how tailored this is and also has two pockets, lining has moderate wear.
