Antique Victorian 14K Gold .50CT Diamond Pearl Pendant Pin Combo

Dating anywhere from the late 1890s to early 1920s, may I offer this gem from the Belle Epoque era! Again, not the usual Starburst or Sunburst pin but this time, one that is filled with all the love of the giver - Hearts! just look at how the curlicues adorn this pendant/pin combination - the top of each loving symbol set with 3 natural pearls. And at the center, a stunning faceted round diamond that sparkles brilliantly. At the back, there is a bale that moves up and down; the pin is lodged within an old fashioned safety catch (see below). The pin - pendant was probably a gift from a gentleman to his lady - I think the sentiment is quite apparent and would have told the lady of the gentleman's intent - matrimony! Condition is excellent with no problems I can spot. Metal Content: 14K Gold with a Hallmark of 14K on the catch (as pictured). Size: 1-1/8" x 1-1/8" Diamond: The center diamond measures 5mm (50 points or 1/2 CARAT). Color is G-H and clarity is VS1 (it's a very nice clear, clean, sparkly diamond). Pearls number 18 and measure 2mm each. Weight: 5.9 grams Final Comments: Beautiful! Size of the Diamond is INDEED everything! Leave as is or take the diamond out and put into a ring and then put another stone or pearl in the pin. Either way - I believe this piece represents a great value for the new owner!
