Antique Victoria Carlsbad Austria Signed FR. Stahl Raised Border Design Plate

Rare antique 19th-20th century Victoria Carlsbad Austria plate with a unique wavy raised border design in green and gold. The plate is signed FR. Stahl This stunning plate features a beautiful lady in an orange Victorian dress holding a white folding hand fan is sitting next to a man in a blue outfit and hat with a red cape holding a mandolin. Based on the Victoria Carlsbad Austria mark in the back of the plate, it is from 1891 - 1918. Carlsbad is a city in Czechoslovakia, home to the factories that made the exported porcelain. Many of the pieces are from the late 1800s and early 1900s. The factory was established in 1883 in Karlsbad by a London company Lazarus & Rosenfeld Ltd. In 1885 it was bought by Franz Schmidt and renamed Porzellanfabrik Victoria Schmidt & Co. In 1927 it was transformed into a stock company Porzellanfabrik Victoria AG. In 1945 the factory together with the Altrohlau Porcelain Company became a part of state owned EPIAG / Starorolský Porcelán and in 1958 Karlovarský Porcelán Stará Role II. Nowadays it is a part of Thun Karlovarský Porcelán.
