Antique Staffordshire Toby Jug "Mr. Pickwick" c.1870, 7.5" tall

Charming Toby Jug titled Mr. Pickwick, a well-known and beloved Dickens character from his first novel, "The Pickwick Papers". Mr. Samuel Pickwick, Esquire was a wealthy, clean-shaven and portly gentleman and president of The Pickwick Club. This little jug captures the loveable essence of Mr. Pickwick. There is a previous repair to his raised arm (Photos 9 and 10). Old label on bottom reads “English Staffordshire Pitcher Mr. Tickwick (*typo) Circa 1870s List $150” This is a wonderful piece with excellent coloration and would add a bit of British charm to any room! Approximately 7 1/2" tall
