An exquisite antique case - made of buttery-soft suede and lined in silk. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, men's collars were detachable so they could be washed separately from the shirt. They were stored for safety and preservation in cases, such as this one. This case is from the Mohawk Trail (Massachusetts), and was likely sold at a General Store. It is in very good condition for age, with only a few wear spots and darkened areas. Inside, find a separate compartment for the buttons.
