Antique polychrome terracotta tobacco jar depicting a long-haired man with pipe and wearing a gourd form cap. Marked on verso FGW #20 best known as Ferdinard Gerbing. The “FGW” stamp dates the piece between 1850 and 1861 Dimensions: 5 1/4" W, 6" D and 7 1/2" H Condition: paint losses to lips and teeth, slight chip above right ear, tiny chip to bottom of hair on left side. Very rare piece . SEE all pictures those and description clearly shows imperfections (consistent with age) FINAL Sale will NOT risk damage if a return is requested.
