This is a rare and hard to find Ruckel’s White Hall pottery bowl. Produced by A.D. Ruckels in White Hall, Illinois. It is marked “Ruckel’s Pottery. 1870. White Hall, I’ll. This one is very rare as it is signed and numbered by the pottery artist that made it. This is one of the earliest versions by Ruckels. It is at least 150 years old and probably older. It has a pyramid design. It is a primitive, farmhouse look. 10.5” in diameter and 5” tall, 5.5”deep. It was made in White Hall, Illinois, where A.D. Ruckels founded his company in 1870. Illinois was a major player in the American pottery movement in the United States. These bowls are quite rare now as not many have survived. This is from my personal collection. This bowl is in very good antique condition, especially for it’s age. There are some nicks and dings and some minor utensil marks inside. There is also some minor crazing. There is an area on the top rim that shows where a chip would have occurred but the bowl is so old that it now looks like an indentation and is completely worn smooth. There are also two areas where small holes have occurred in rim due to age and use. The bowl has no cracks and is completely functional. It is a wonderful piece and perfect for the primitive collector. If I weren’t downsizing I would never let it go, as I love it. A very rare find. In expected antique condition. Please see photos.
