Unusual vintage piece has etched design on lid and two fancy scrolled handles on the bottom piece. The insert is two pieces, a bowl and rim, which fits inside the metal bottom. The bowl is blue enameled outside and white inside, shows some wear, see photos. I guess this is a casserole dish or serving piece. Mark on the bottom says The Middletown Silver Co. Middletown Connecticut.
