Antique Mellor and Co. Large White Stoneware Pitcher, Cook Pottery, Trenton, NJ

Here it is! If you collect stoneware and ironware, this is the piece you have been waiting for. Produced by Cook Pottery in Trenton, NJ in the mid to late 1800’s and marked Mellor & Co. We love the unicorn mark! This is a large pitcher topping out at 12 inches in height. We do not see any condition issues. Mellor pieces do not come onto the market often. The MET and other museums have some of their pieces in their collections. This is a historical piece with a beautiful impressed pattern. We purchased this from the estate of a stoneware collector. We believe this was the jewel of their collection and it is looking for a new caretaker. This is a large showstopper item and will need other pieces to play supporting roles in a display.
