annamir4 Dear Ellen, I just saw a Jeweler and asked about my Brooch/Pendant. He said, that it carved from a shell and set in silver with gold plated. This is an authentic cameo, it has a stamp on the back. The cameo itself is perfectly carved, but because of a small crack on the side of lady’s hair, it reduces the value. The crack is not noticeable. In perfect condition this Antique Cameo Brooch/Pendant would have a price between $400 and $1500. Please, let me know if you have any other questions. Anna.

motiif @annamir4 Interesting piece. I've never heard of gold plated silver for a cameo setting. it looks like it might have been a project piece for a student carver. thank you for sharing it!
