Antique Figural Pistol Cigar Cutter - GRDM - Made in Germany

Antique Pistol-Shaped Cigar Cutter By Goberg Germany and marked D.R.G.M. Stamped on one side of the barrel it says: GOBERG. Stamped on the other side of barrel : D.R.G.M. The Goberg factory made blades and was founded by Hugo Berger in 1904 at Schmalkalden in Thuringen. Goberg was an important name in the arts & crafts movement. This cutter was probably made some time between 1904 and the start of WW1 in 1914, when production would have been switched to the war effort. It has a wooden handle and a metal body. The metal body is probably either steel or gun metal. The cigar is cut by cocking the gun. This working order cutter measures 3" long x 1 3/4" at the widest.
