Antique Edwardian Valencia Spain gold plated elaborate costume embossed combs

These are a very beautiful pair of combs that I was able to date to approximately 1910 from Valencia Spain. These stunning floral and leaf combs according to costume photos were “secondary “ combs . The primary larger comb was worn at the back of the head over braided hair, the secondary ones were worn over braids that covered the ears. Today you would wear these as normal combs. The combs are in very good condition, they do have some slight wear to the plating only at the higher points, probably from storage rather then wear, beautiful collectible. They measure 3” across and are 2.5” high, the teeth of the comb are 1” deep.
