Early 1900’s Chinese Yixing Zisha enamel teapot marked "OTC" on the bottom. The teapot features a brown clay body with a teal-green enameled bamboo-style handle and spout, and is decorated with pink and yellow floral designs. Yixing teapots are traditionally made from a unique clay found in the Yixing region of China. This clay is known for its high iron content and low thermal conductivity, which allows the tea to "breathe," enhancing its flavor and aroma. The teapots are typically constructed using a slab-building technique.
