Antique Dogon Tribe African Bronze Ring

This antique African bronze ring uses the lost wax method of casting metal. It features a traditional Dogon double-cone shape, from Mali, West Africa. I don’t know the exact symbolism of the shape; it could reference fertility or be modeled on the tribe’s tower-like thatched roof huts. Wear as a ring or string on leather twine and wear as a pendant necklace. In terms of age, this ring dates between vintage (50 years old) and antique (100 years old). I purchased it in the early 1990s from an Ethnic Arts gallery, and it dates long before that.
