Antique Cut Glass Vanity Powder Jar

Vintage cut glass vanity powder jar with lid, octagon shape, no makers mark that I could find, about 2" H with lid, 1 1/4" H without lid, about 3" wide. No chips or scratches that I can see. Purchased at an antique store and was told that it "dates to 1898 Victorian", but I don't know if that is accurate.
