Antique Chinese Exports Rose Medallion 6.5” Octagonal Plates 1891-1918

Preowned antique/vintage. GUC for use and age. Light normal wear Set of 2 6.5” Rose Medallion is a style of porcelain or a pattern that developed about 1820. It was produced for the Chinese export market largely for European and American consumers As a general rule the plain "CHINA" mark came into use after 1891 when US federal law required all imports to be marked with their country of origin. The addition of "MADE IN" was required from 1919. If the Rose Medallion piece doesn't have any marks or characters to identify itself, then it is most likely a piece made before 1890. These plates are marked CHINA indicating it is most likely from the 1891-1918 period. These plates are part of a large set of antique rose medallion pieces, most of which are simply marked China indicating age of 1891-1918, although some are unmarked pre-1890.
