Antique Brown Salt Glazed Beehive Stoneware Crock Jug - Primitive Rustic Farmhouse. A very nice example of a midwestern beehive jug. Beautiful espresso brown salt glaze with natural imperfections from firing. Great rustic appeal for decor in- or outdoors. Great size to add to a grouping of stoneware at 7” Tall. These date back to the 19th or early 20th century. These jugs were commonly used for storing and transporting liquids like water, cider, whiskey, or other beverages. Since they are ceramic fired at high temperatures, they are very durable and water-resistant. There are no chips or cracks on this piece. Some wear on handle. It is unmarked.
