Antique 1950s Antipholgietine Medicated Poultice Dressing Cream Medical Treatment Topical Pain Relief. This jar has obviously expired and is not recommended for modern day use. Selling as an original display medical item for a collector or medical decor/display item.
In the early 20th century, Antiphlogistine was one of the old remedies for boils, poison ivy and chest congestion, first used in 1893 and created by Denver Chemical of New York. It was a cream to be heated and applied to intact skin (not irritated or wounded skin), used to soothe muscle, joint and tendon soreness. Counter-irritants (menthol and methyl salicylate) causes skin to feel cool, then warm.
Condition as shown in photos and not believed to have been opened, but I have not taken the Lid off so have not confirmed. It does come with the original box. Both the jar and the box have signs of wear due to age. Seller is not responsible for any injury due to exposure of expired medical treatments.
