Taken from our 5 generation family’s deteriorating Bible, this engraving is exquisite, and rare. From the Book of Matthew. It is one of 6 or so illustrating The New Testament, entered into the Office of The Library of Congress in its 1885 Edition. May be purchased with or without the frame. This listing is without the frame. The Bible in whole was presented with 6 illustrative awards in the years from 1876 - 1885. As shown in second to last picture, the parchment cover piece is intact.
