Released in May 1964 at the height of Bryant’s soft-pop run, The World of Lonely People collects the Top-60 title single plus eleven torch standards arranged by Frank Hunter and produced by Lor Crane. The red “COLUMBIA 360-SOUND STEREO” labels (matrix XSM 78129/30) mark this U.S. first-press stereo issue, catalog CS 9022. Vinyl is VG: a few wispy lines, gloss intact and play-tested portions stay quiet on our Technics SL-1200. Jacket grades VG with moderate edge rub and ring wear but no splits (see photos). Clocking in at ≈31 minutes for 12 tracks, it’s prime background listening for crooner and MOR collectors.
