Alebrije Folkart of Oaxaca Mexico created this mythical wood-carved, hand-painted cat/cheetah. Dating from 1940s Alebrijes art emerged from a wild dream by artist Linares. No two Alebrijes are alike, each with unique personalities and considered spirit guides. The whimsical carvings depict animals, people, objects, and imaginary creatures painted with intense colors and intricate patterns. They can be made of wood or paper mache.
