agreatsmile @davidbattista , this I have no personal knowledge of, however, Alden is among the most reputable of shoe companies, with strong history. In terms of shell cordovan shoes, they top the market, owning the $800 price point, and have strong resale interest. What I can tell you is that it's a case by case basis when comparing fit of different shoes. Sneakers are often significantly different in size.

agreatsmile @davidbattista Here's a quote from Google on the Aberdeen loafer: They are generally true to size, but some will need to size up. The last narrows quickly from the ball to the toes, long toes may need more room. Because of that, this shoe is not good for some feet. If you've had a pair of these, or worn Alden's successfully, that's the best test.

davidbattista apologies for delay in my response. I appreciate your helpful and highly informative replies to my query. I wish there were more sellers like yourself, who clearly has an attention to detail and provides excellent replies. It's been a minute since I've worn Aldens and I can't remember how they run. I seem to recall one-half size smaller than my true size. The downside with Poshmark is no returns for size discrepancies. once again, many thanks

agreatsmile @davidbattista Thanks for the kind words. I'm the husband of the lovely lady pictured, and sold men's shoes in retail for 12 years, so it takes on a more personal note. Loafers often need to drop a half size from laces, lacking that securability. Sad story: I have fit into shoes labeled between size 8 and 13.

davidbattista appreciate the follow-up. Agree completely about nuances, to downright seismic changes, in shoe size for different designers. In Gucci 9.5 (43 EU), Tod's 8.5, Belgian loafers 11 (my true size). I'm going to buy same size Alden cordovans from a vendor that allows returns, which is the only drawback with Poshmark. I wore these years ago, I think cordovan LHS color 8 - and I could swear they wear 10.5. Once I narrow it down, I will come to this site as you and your wife have high quality shoes
