"Sugar Frosted Flakes" Brand Launch Original Marketing Print From the US launch in 1952. Kellogg's Sugar Frosted Flakes, 1952 dropped the word "Sugar" in 1983
The cereal's mascot is Tony the Tiger, who has been featured since the cereal's introduction. In 1952, the boxes of Frosted Flakes also featured Katy the Kangaroo, Elmo the Elephant, and Newt the Gnu, but Tony the Tiger became the permanent mascot after an ad in LIFE magazine in 1953
