African Fugu Batakari Jacket | Smock

One of the most distinctive traditional men’s garment in West Africa.  Made from locally grown cotton in Tamale, Northern Ghana. The Fugu was introduced in Ghana by the Moshies of Burkino Faso and by the Hausas from northern Nigeria, both groups migrated into Northern Ghana.   The African Batakari is 100% cotton men’s pull-over outer garment.  Made by joining heavy strips of strong hand-woven fabric together.
