The villains want to learn the secret training techniques that Legionnaires learn in fighting crime. Colossal Boy, having been a Legionnaire for such a long time, states how the techniques now are modernized and he doesn't know them. Forcing him to learn it or his parents would perish, Colossal Boy acts inept on missions, forcing him to take a training course in the Legion Academy. One of Colossal Boy's trainers, Bouncing Boy, realizes something isn't right with Colossal Boy and goes to his home to inspect. There he finds the secret manuals on the training techniques, evidence that paints Colossal Boy as a traitor. He is consequently dismissed from the Legion.
