Would only use during heavy one or two reps powerlifting squats for about 6 months. Would always sanitize the bottom, I don't know, I'm a germaphobe and it would go directly in my gym bag. Size 7 Men but, I used them as a size 8 Women. Comes from a clean home ruled by a black cat.
