AWE-INSPIRING 1940s' BLACK STRAW HAT + FUCHSIA FABRIC FLOWERS & FULL BLACK VEIL

This is a gorgeous and timeless black straw hat. The round crown is surrounded by a short brim, which is upturned at the back. The grand feature is the bouquet of fuchsia fabric flowers and green leaves adorning the front of the hat. There is a full black veil that ties at the back. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage piece, not new and perfect! This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
