AUTHENTIC Amazingly Creepy Texas Armadillo Basket

Yes, you read that right. This handy basket is made from a real armadillo shell. There was an Armadillo Farm in Comfort, Texas in the early 1940’s and that’s where this lovely basket was made. I’ve lived in Texas all my life and have only seen one of these a handful of times- it’s a rarity! It features original shellacked shell with the tail drawn around to the mouth to make the handle. This one has silk lining (an ivory color, and honestly probably needing replacement but I’m not brave enough to pull it off) with a braided trim. There’s a face and ears. Put it in a man cave? Conversation piece? All I know is that my kids want it out- they’re scared of it. 😂
