ASTOUNDING VINTAGE STRAW WIDE BRIM HAT + VERY LONG BLACK/IVORY BANDED FEATHER

This is a very large hat made of natural straw. The crown is round and surrounded by a black band. The brim is very wide. At one side of the crown there is a bow edged in black, which holds the magnificent and extremely long black/ivory banded feather. I looked up what type of feather it ids, and as near as found, it looks like it could belong to a "long tailed widowbird "(Euplectes progne)...see last photo. This is a timeless hat that will continue to amaze! This hat was acquired from an estate sale of a prominent lady in San Diego, California. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage hat, not new nor perfect! This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
