ART Arthur Pepper lucite lion necklace. Incredible collectible vintage piece from the 1960s. Long, textured, chunky gold chain, with a large clear lucite medallion centered with a lion that has sparkly amber jewel eyes and a ring in his mouth. The ART copyright mark is on the back of the lion. The ring can be just decorative or used to hold your glasses. ART Arthur Pepper created unique and stunning costume jewelry, often with animal/zodiac themes, starting in the 1940s in NYC and through the 1970s. I can't find another piece like this one. It is in very good vintage condition; only flaws I see are a little bit of fading/wear to the gold plating - the most wear is on the loop at the top of the pendant (see pic). (I don't know if this piece is actually gold plated or faux gold). The medallion is 2.5" in diameter, chain is about 24" long. Secure rectangular clip clasp. Really unique and cool vintage gold chain necklace!
