ANTIQUE WESTERN ELECTRIC ROTARY DIAL PHONE

You never know what you are going to find in the back of a closet. This is an antique rotary phone made by the Western Electric Company. My father collected old phones. Under the handset, there are the letters FIW as well as general electric company USA. On the back of the phone, the inscription says patent number 150-8424 178-8747. The phone was not adopted for the modern jack and has the old three wire as it was called. The phone was well used back then since the black paint wore off, but can easily be retouched. This phone weighs almost 4 pounds. I presume the bottom cover is leather and has come loose a little, but can easily be glued down carefully. What a delightful conversation piece, or a paperweight.
