ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ART NOUVEAU METAL DOUBLE INKWELL GLOWY URANIUM SHAMROCKS

This is a stunning piece of the Victorian era, a step back in time when one would compose a letter to correspond with anyone outside of their household! In a heavy silver tone metal, might possibly be cast iron, the double inkwell has an elaborate filigree pattern of lucky shamrocks! Measuring a sizeable 9-1/2”x8-1/2”x4”, it has some patina to the metal, which I’m sure can be cleaned, I’ll leave that to you. One of the glass inserts inside the wells is pristine, the other is chipped on edge, please view pics. Now for even more fun - uranium & magnesium were used in the molten mix for the glass, so one cup insert glows neon green, & the other a lighter peachy yellow green when exposed to UV light! I do believe that one of the glass cups is a replacement, as they do not match in color under UV, but they’re both still super old! This piece ticks a lot of different collector & decor boxes. It’s great for giving an exciting & different gift to an everything Irish inspired person, a steampunk enthusiast, or a lover of Victoriana, as well as fitting in with any granny cottage core, industrial, art nouveau, or boho decor!
