ANTIQUE SILVER RESIST LUSTRE 19th Century Demitasse Espresso Cups & Saucers Set

VERY RARE COMPLETE SET! Early nineteenth century, silver resist lustre demitasse expresso cups with saucers. Nicely decorated with a central foliate band and design. The decoration was painted on with oils and then the piece was dipped into the silver lustre glaze. The oils resisted the glaze and left the design showing in the color of the body of the cups, hence the term “resist lustre."
