When American pottery companies began making white porcelain doorknobs based on imported European examples in the mid-1800s, the style took off and stayed in vogue through the first part of the 20th century.
These are a variety of solid brass and solid pure porcelain antique door knobs that can be used to dress up any door in your home or office. These do not come their original hardware, but only the knob alone.
Here are some ideas of what you could do with old door handles and door knobs:
~ Use them as towel/coat hooks.
~ Turn them into jewelry or tie organizers.
~ Hang photos from them and put them on your walls.
~ Create cork holders.
~ Decorate pet and birdhouses.
~ Feature them in the garden as decorative pieces.
