This incredible double crystal inkwell is from the late 19th century Victorian era. Measuring 4-1/2”x3-1/4”, it has stacked sections to lay your writing implements, & has hinged brass bands around the caps. Consistent with age & use, it does have scratching on the base, a few flea bites, & the brass banding has a wonderful aged patina, please view pics. Now for the really fun part - uranium and magnesium were used in the molten mix, so when exposed to UV light, this beauty glows neon green yellow! I’ve seen inkwells used as interesting shelf decor, or used upon a coffee table book stack, as well as for cigar ashtrays, q-tip holders or makeup accessories at the vanity, & for ingenious bud vases & propagation of plants! Perfect for your industrial, steampunk, Victorian, art deco aesthetic, or your vintage office! Part of an extensive collection of antique inkwells, fountain pens, & office ephemera being slowly listed in my closet, this piece has sold prices for over double of what this is listed at, so she’s priced low sell quickly!
* I don’t issue returns or partial refunds, so please view pics & description thoughtfully, thanks!
